Arizona Attorney Magazine named national award finalist for Sandra Day O’Connor coverage
PHOENIX – Arizona Attorney Magazine, the State Bar of Arizona’s flagship publication, has been named a finalist for the prestigious 2025 Eddie & Ozzie Awards.
The publication received the recognition for its December 2024 special issue highlighting the life and legacy of Justice Sandra Day O’Connor.
The special issue, titled “Her Honor’s Legacy,” dives into O’Connor’s rise to become the first woman Supreme Court justice and her lasting impact on Arizona through firsthand accounts and historical recollections of her achievements. It includes the insights, memories and anecdotes of 60 people – lawyers, judges and others – who described the history-making jurist.
FOLIO's Eddie & Ozzie Awards is the most prestigious recognition program in the publishing community, recognizing excellence in editorial content and design across all sectors of media. The awards are recognized globally, receiving applications in the thousands annually. They are presented by FOLIO: The Magazine of Magazine Management, known as "the bible of the magazine publishing industry."
Tim Eigo, former editor of Arizona Attorney, said the staff of the magazine and the Bar were proud of the accomplishment.
“We are thankful for recognition by magazine peers across the country,” said Eigo, recently named the State Bar’s Chief Communications Officer. “The honor is deepened by the historic and pioneering accomplishments of Justice O’Connor, and it was a pleasure to share so many moving stories about her.”
Arizona Attorney Magazine joins five other nonprofit finalists in the “Business, Leadership and Public Affairs” category. Winners will be announced Oct. 6 at a ceremony in New York City. A full list of finalists is available here.
